This morning was much like every other morning. I was up drinking my coffee and spending time with the lord. I had been praying for two specific things and even had others praying with me. Then I got word that neither had come to fruition. I was disappointed, sad, hurt, even mad at God at that moment. I found myself asking God why? “Why us? Why now? What about all the time I have been spending with you? I don’t know if I can handle one more thing, papa. I’m sorry…I need you!” My knees hit the ground, and I began to give it all to you, Lord! There is nothing I withhold from you! Take it all and search my heart, God! I release the need to know how everything turns out…I trust you, Jesus🙌🏽❤️. In that moment of swaying and praying and listening to have my heart( maverick city), I released it all to God and felt the need to thank him for strengthening my roots in Him with the wind.
He is taking me deeper, and I depend on him and release it sooner than later. That’s the amazing grace of God! Even if we mess up. Even when we are in a tough spot, our daddy still loves us! Just as we are. Right, where we are. All we have to do is run to our papa with our problems. Or mess up, and He is right there! He is listening; he is watching over us, holding our hands and working it all out for our good and his glory! I am learning that God allows certain things to happen so that He can strengthen our roots in him. You see trees, need wind to blow against them because it causes their roots system to grow deeper. This supports the tree as it grows taller. The tree accepts the strong wind as a blessing that helps it grow!
What is it that you’re facing today? What is it God wants you to release? What does He want to use to strengthen your roots in him! Don’t let the wind blow you down, sister friend! Stand firm in his love. Dig in and expand your roots! Grow in the moment. Count it as a blessing happening for you, not to you!
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the wind that strengthens our roots in you! We thank you for your peace, protection, and perfect plans for us. Father God, help us see you in the details today and cast all our cares on you. Father take it all…it is too much for us, but with you, we can. Father gives us your strength and courage. Help us not to fear but to stand firm in your word. Your promises for us are tired and true. You are always working all for our good. We give it all to you and trust you. Father, we release the need to know how things will turn out. We trust that it is done in your son Jesus’ name, amen!
